1st XV Rugby is kicking off for another season LIVE on the Rugby Channel (#064) -  we've picked five of our favourites out of the many outstanding fixtures heading onto our screens this season:

1) Tamaki College v Otahuhu College
Saturday 29 April - 2.30pm LIVE on the Rugby Channel (#064)

Kicking off our season of LIVE Land Rover 1st XV Rugby, Tamaki College and Otahuhu College go head to head in a bid to secure a place in Auckland's prestigious 1A competition.

2) Southland Boys v Otago Boys
Wednesday 24 May - 12.30pm LIVE on the Rugby Channel (#064)

Battling for 'the pride of the South' - this traditional rugby clash has had many classic encounters over the years, with an always stunning backdrop and some exciting play to match - many an All Black has found his feet through this fixture, and we'll likely be seeing some future stars shine through when Southland and Otago meet once again in May.

3) St Peters College v Auckland Grammar
Saturday 10 June - 2.30pm LIVE on the Rugby Channel (#064)

The annual 'Battle of the Bridge' pits two of Auckland's premier boys schools in a head-to-head all out turf-war, separated geographically by only a single bridge - a win in this fixture is vital for neighbourly bragging rights. Hosted this year in St Peters' famous 'Cage' - a state-of-the-art facility and a cauldron of atmosphere on game-day, this fixture is literally a must see king-of-the-hill cage match - not to be missed!

4) Auckland Grammar v Kings College
Saturday 17 June - 2.30pm LIVE on the Rugby Channel (#064)

One of Auckland's greatest rivalries - you'll have seen footage of the earth-shaking Haka floating around online, itself encompassing the tremendous spirit, pride and passion that this fixture ignites in the students of both schools - and that's before a single ball has even been kicked. Schoolboy rugby at its grandest.

5) St Andrew's College v Christ's College
Saturday 5 August - 2.30pm LIVE on the Rugby Channel (#064)

St Andrew's College are celebrating their centennial year, and celebrations will be in full swing when Christ's College come calling for their traditional fixture in August. Christ's College will be seeking some sweet revenge over St Andrew's, who won their maiden Maadi Cup earlier this year, audaciously ousting 11-time champions Christ's in the final of the prestigious rowing event. On the rugby paddock, however, Christ's have experienced a renaissance under their new coach, former All Blacks' and Crusader's captain Reuben Thorne, and will be equally desperate to maintain their new rise to form with a win. This is definitely one fixture to watch out for!
