ACC JOINS SKY SPORT FOR PINK BALL TEST

SKY Sport is nervous/excited to announce that Kiwi cricketing cult heroes the Alternative Commentary Collective (The ACC) will be providing an uninformed alternative audio option for SKY Sport’s coverage of the “Pink Ball Test” between the BLACKCAPS and England starting March 22nd.

The collective of cricket has-beens and never-wills will graduate from the trusty ACC caravan to an old disused box at Eden Park, making their LIVE ball-by-ball debut as an alternative audio option for SKY Sport viewers.

The ACC team features a powerful cricketing line-up of Jeremy Wells, Mike Lane, Matt Heath, Paul Ford, Leigh Hart, Lee Baker and Jason Hoyte. Boasting zero caps between the team, viewers can expect ball-by-ball commentary, uninformed analysis and unrequested life lessons.

ACC member, Jeremy Wells says: “The prospect of The ACC doing five days of commentary back-to-back is mildly terrifying as we’re not 100% sure we can back up two days, let alone five… Things will get weird quickly.”

Mike Lane adds: “The Pink Ball test is a very special occasion for NZ Cricket – we’re not so sure this simulcast will be.”

SKY Director of Sport, Richard Last says: “Our desire at SKY is to meet the needs of the wide range of New Zealand sports fans, and adding the ACC as an alternative commentary for this Test is just one way to offer something a little different. While the ACC commentary isn’t for everyone, we know there are some customers who love it, and we’re pleased to make the viewing and listening experience seamless for them for this test.”

The SKY Sport coverage will be led by the world class and insightful SKY Sport commentary team of Ian Smith, Mark Richardson, Simon Doull, Craig Cumming, Lesley Murdoch, David Lloyd, Scott Styris and Michael Atherton.

To access the alternative audio option, press the yellow button on your SKY remote, from there you will see an audio language box, press the up arrow on your remote to access English Alt. Please note that the Alternative Commentary Collective audio is rated R16. While ratings are not required under the Code of Broadcasting Standards for sports coverage, given the nature of the ACC content we want to warn customers that the audio is not appropriate for viewers under 16 years, and may include content and language that may offend. Viewer discretion is advised.

The alternative audio option is not available through SKY GO or FAN PASS. The ACC will still be available on iheartradio.
