BRENDON MCCULLUM SIGNS WITH SKY SPORT

Aggressive, fearless, innovative, bold. There are many ways to describe Brendon McCullum, but conventional is not one of them.

Whether its “ramp-shotting” a 150km ball for six, blasting the fastest test century in history (54 balls), or keeping Dan Carter out of the number 10 jersey in the 2000 South Island Secondary Schools rugby team. Brendon has always backed himself, and with so many tricks in his arsenal it’s not surprising that commentary has come naturally to the former New Zealand captain.

Because of this, SKY Sport is excited to announce that this summer, instead of padding up, Brendon will be mic’ing up, and instead of donning a box… he’ll be in the commentary box. You get the picture. He’s the newest member of the SKY Sport cricket team!

“We are extremely excited to announce that we have secured the signature of Brendon McCullum to work on our cricket this season in and around his Channel 7 commitments” says SKY Head of Sports Production, Brian Hitchcock.

”Brendon is one of New Zealand's most respected sportsmen of recent times and he is a great addition to our growing stable of talent.”

The former New Zealand master blaster is fresh off his commentary commitments at the ICC Cricket World Cup where he helped call the tournament.

“It was an awesome experience being a part of that commentary team, I was surrounded by legends of the game and I learnt a lot.

"I’m really excited to come home and be a part of the SKY Sport team for the New Zealand summer, and I can’t wait to get stuck in!”

Brendon McCullum will feature in the SKY Sport commentary team for the upcoming BLACKCAPS summer of cricket.
