Self-taught baker, teacher and cookbook author Gesine Prado believes anyone can bake! From sweet cakes, cookies and pies to savory meals, she's sharing tips from her 18th-century farmhouse in Vermont that show how baking can be easy, accessible and fun.  Join Gesine as she crafts her favourite cookie dough, shows off new twists on leftovers, and gives tips for stocking a freezer full of goodies. In the first episode,  Gesine throws a twilight backyard birthday party for her husband, Ray, and fills the table with both savories and sweets. On the savory side, she bakes Flaky Bacon Bruschetta and a Creamy Artichoke and Tomato Tart. Then Gesine pulls out all the sweet stops with Chocolate S'mores Pudding and a showstopping Flaky Birthday Berry Pie with a Celebratory Jaconde.
