Season 3

Tuesdays from 11 December at 7:30pm Channel 017

Kevin McCloud is embarking on a journey across the UK, to visit some of the most contemporary and cutting-edge homes in the running for the 2017 Royal Institute of British Architects House of the Year.

Prepare yourself for a visual treat as Kevin and his co-presenters architect Damion Burrows, and editor-at-large of Elle Decoration, Michelle Ogundehin, visit five extraordinary homes each episode, all of which are battling it out for a place on the shortlist. These stunning houses draw on local materials and traditions, and this year’s line-up includes a luxurious tree house in Dorset that shows off the wonder of wood, and a finely crafted contemporary home packed onto a tiny site in South London lit by a central light well.

The season kicks off as the team pays a visit to a remarkable 21st century shepherd’s hut in Scotland; a sleek, Modernist house in Bath which echoes the colours and textures of its historic surroundings; a grand country house in Kent inspired by local Oast houses and finally a delightful reinvention of the London townhouse.

At the end of each episode, Kevin will reveal which of these houses has secured a coveted place on the shortlist, with the series culminating in the announcement of the winner of this prestigious prize.
