It’s rebellion. It’s sabotage. It’s family.
Created by Oscar® nominee Jesse Armstrong (In the Loop), Succession explores themes of power, politics, money, and family, played out within a rich and dysfunctional family whose patriarch, Logan Roy, is CEO of Waystar/Royco, one of the world’s largest media conglomerates.
In light of his advancing years, it is widely anticipated that Logan’s retirement is imminent, and each of his four grown children is focusing on a personal agenda that may or may not sync with those of their siblings, or of Logan himself. Kendall, Logan’s eldest son from his second marriage, is a division president at the firm and the heir apparent, but his transparent ambition and high-strung personality make his ascension far from guaranteed. Roman, Kendall's outspoken, irreverent younger brother, no longer works at Waystar, though he sits on its Board and is eyeing a return. Siobhan “Shiv” Roy, Logan's only daughter and youngest child, has been pursuing a career in politics, but isn’t ruling out a top job at Waystar. And Connor, Logan’s eldest son and only child from his first marriage, claims to be indifferent to the company and its future, having pursued a stress-free lifestyle. However, Logan changes his mind about stepping down and in the aftermath endures challenges to his dominance from his jostling heirs while others in their orbit – including Logan’s stoic third wife Marcia, scheming young nephew Greg, and would-be son-in-law Tom – position themselves for a looming post-Logan world.
