Investec Super Rugby

Investec Super Rugby

Rugby’s preeminent professional rugby competition – Investec Super Rugby – kicks off on January 31 and rugby fans can catch every try, tackle, scrum and maul LIVE on Sky Sport!

In its 25th year Investec Super Rugby will again make for compelling viewing as the 15 teams battle it out! Earlier kick-off times in New Zealand (24 Friday and Saturday games start at 7.05pm as opposed to 7.35pm) make the competition even more fan friendly and there’s also eight games scheduled for 4.45pm kick-off.

There are plenty of derby matches for fans and there will be none bigger than the season opener between the Blues and Chiefs on Friday January 31.

International talent is again showcased along with 46 'rookies', defined as those players who have signed their first full-time Investec Super Rugby contracts, among the 195 players contracted to the Blues, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders and Hurricanes for the 2020 season.
There’s also an 18-year age difference with lock Cullen Grace at the Crusaders the youngest player at 19 years old, while Hurricanes prop Ben May will be the oldest, at 37.

World Rugby’s international window for inbound tours to New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Argentina in July means that Investec Super Rugby is uninterrupted across 21 weeks with the final’s series set to start on June 6 and the final to be played on June 20.
