Recently retired 66 test All Black, Israel Dagg, announced to his 146,000 Instagram followers tonight that he would be embarking on an exciting new broadcast career with Sky Sport.

Sky rugby fans can look forward to seeing the former Magpies, Highlanders, Crusaders and All Blacks fullback and wing a lot more on Sky Sport as a regular panellist on Thursday night’s Kick-off with Kirstie Stanway from April 25th. Israel will also feature in Sky rugby match build-ups, post matches and will help generate stories for Sky rugby shows.

Sky Director of Sport, Tex Teixeira says: “Israel Dagg is a great person and legend of the game, he is also recognised worldwide and loved by kiwis. We are really excited at the opportunity we have to work with Israel and look forward to creating exciting new content for all fans”.

Israel Dagg will debut on Kick-off from Thursday 25th April 8.30pm on Sky Sport 1.

ISRAEL DAGG’S PLAYING CAREER:

Israel Dagg enjoyed an outstanding New Zealand rugby career making his debut for his beloved Hawke’s Bay Magpies in 2006 while still a pupil at Lindisfarne College in Hastings.

In 2007 he made the New Zealand U19 and All Blacks Sevens teams, and in 2009 he made his Super Rugby debut with the Highlanders. Later that same year he would also represent the Junior All Blacks.

In his final year for the Highlanders in 2010, Israel made his first All Blacks appearance against Ireland in New Plymouth.

He would go on to represent the All Blacks in a further 65 test matches scoring 136 test points in the process (26 tries, 1 conversion, 1 penalty). 2011 saw Israel make the move north to the Crusaders which is where he would finish his Super Rugby career in 2019.
