SKY MOVIES PAYS TRIBUTE TO MUSIC ICON CHUCK BERRY

Following the death of legendary musician Chuck Berry, SKY Movies remembers the rock ‘n’ roll icon with a tribute pop-up channel featuring the 1987 documentary Hail, Hail… Rock ‘n’ Roll, available right now on SKY channel 035.

A revealing look at the man behind the music, Taylor Hackford’s Hail, Hail… Rock ‘n’ Roll chronicles the 1986 concerts at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis celebrating Berry’s 60th birthday, which featured special performances from Etta James, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and many more.

“As the definitive distillation of Chuck’s enormous talent, as well as a seminal and truly revealing documentary of a complex and contradictory man; it’s great to be able to bring SKY Movies subscribers this celebratory pop up in memory of the man and his music,” says Travis Dunbar, SKY’s Director of Entertainment.

“With so many of those early rock ‘n’ roll pioneers having long since passed – from Elvis to Bo Diddley; Carl Perkins to Screaming Jay Hawkins, and now Chuck Berry; it’s time for musical reflection, and that’s what we hope to offer those who would like to reflect on a shining pioneer, scribe and icon of the first wave of rock ‘n’ roll.”

SKY Movies RIP Chuck Berry pop-up channel is available now until Wednesday 23 March, 8.14am on SKY channel 035 to SKY Domestic customers with the SKY Movies package.
