Monday 24 June 8.30pm Channel 039

In the aftermath of World War II, a group of surrendered German soldiers are ordered by the Danish government to remove their own landmines from the coast of Denmark. The soldiers are mainly young inexperienced boys who struggle to complete and survive the dangerous work. Sgt. Rasmussen's hate for the Germans gradually cools as he grows to understand the horrific situation these child soldiers are in, even as the mines claim more and more victims. Eventually, he has to decide what can be done to alleviate a situation that would be denounced by later generations as the worst war crime committed by the Danish government in its history. Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards 2017. Starring Roland Moller & Louis Hoffman.
