NZ DOMESTIC RUGBY COVERAGE LIVE ON SKY SPORT
 
The Mitre 10 Cup and Farah Palmer Cup seasons are about to kick-off for 2018, and SKY Sport will be on the sideline at every single match*, that’s at least 92 matches LIVE on SKY Sport.
 
The Mitre 10 Cup kicks off Thursday 16th August with North Harbour hosting neighbours Northland, while a repeat of the 2017 Premiership Final between Canterbury and Tasman is the following night. Both matches will have LIVE coverage on SKY Sport 1 from 7.30pm with kick off at 7.35pm. 
 
The Farah Palmer Cup will kick off two weeks later on September 1st with the first televised match between defending champions Canterbury and Bay of Plenty starting at 11.35am that day.
This will be a double header with the Mitre 10 Cup match between Canterbury and Bay of Plenty kicking off at 2.35pm on SKY Sport 1.
 
2018 also sees some significant changes to SKY Sport’s coverage of the Farah Palmer Cup, with an increase of LIVE coverage to at least 16 LIVE games, including at least one semi-final and the final.
 
SKY Sport will also now have a camera at every Farah Palmer Cup match in 2018, capturing footage for a brand new rugby highlights show that will run for the duration of the Farah Palmer Cup. 
 
The Farah Palmer Cup highlights show will be the world’s first dedicated women’s rugby highlights show and is yet another demonstration of SKY Sport’s commitment to offering comprehensive coverage of New Zealand rugby from 1st XV matches right through to the All Blacks. 
 
A highlight of the season is during week four and five where four Farah Palmer Cup games will be broadcast LIVE. There will be a minimum of one LIVE Farah Palmer match broadcast each week for the duration of the competition.  
 
SKY Director of Sport, Richard Last says: “SKY’s commitment to New Zealand rugby is as strong as ever and these recent additions to our LIVE broadcasts further demonstrates SKY’s determination to grow the women’s game in New Zealand. Fans will now be able to keep up to date with every team across the competition through the new highlights show as well as catching frequent LIVE double headers of Farah Palmer Cup and Mitre 10 Cup matches. We can’t wait for the two seasons to kick-off!”

SKY Sport will have LIVE coverage of every single Mitre 10 Cup match.
For every LIVE broadcast, SKY will have roughly 25 OSB crew working, including six camera operators.
Prime will have delayed free-to-air coverage of one Mitre 10 Cup game every Saturday afternoon, plus coverage of the finals.

ABOUT THE MITRE 10 CUP:
 
The competition plays across nine weeks with every team playing one Wednesday night fixture in a double-up round where they play twice that week.
 
The semi-finals will be played on 19-20 October, with the Mitre 10 Cup Championship Final to be played on Friday 26 October and the Mitre 10 Cup Premiership Final on Saturday 27 October.
