SKY SPORT SERVES UP A BIG SUMMER OF TENNIS

SKY Sport is proud to be serving up another huge summer of tennis from both sides of the Tasman in 2020.

“The Summer of Tennis on Sky Sport” begins with the women’s ASB Classic in Auckland on January 6, ahead of the men’s competition starting a week later on January 13.

With some of the world’s top players heading to Stanley Street, you can expect a fortnight of action-packed tennis coverage, live on Sky Sport.

And it won’t just be the players giving it their all, behind the scenes there will be an incredibly talented crew bringing the Sky Sport broadcast to life. The main court will be LIVE on Sky Sport 3, with additional coverage on Sky Sport 4, Sky Sport 8 and Sky Sport Pop Up 1.

The Women’s ASB Classic Commentators are as follows:

• Rikki Swannell: Day Session Commentator
• Belinda Cordwell: Day Session Expert Comments
• Jenny Woods: Night Session Commentator
• Barbara Schett-Eagle: Night Session Expert Comments

The Men’s ASB Classic Commentators are as follows:

• Glen Larmer: Day Session Commentator
• Mark Woodforde: Day Session Expert Comments
• Andrew Dewhurst: Night Session Commentator
• Robbie Koenig: Night Session Expert Comments

During the ASB Classic each day starts with a half hour build-up show reviewing what has been happening at the tournament, interviews with the players, along with off-the-court news before looking ahead to the day’s match-ups.

This is presented by Jordan Vandermade who will be joined by Belinda Cordwell for the women’s tournament and Mark Woodforde with the men.

Sky Sport will recap every key moment on a dedicated studio show, Second Serve, running between the day and night sessions for the duration of the ASB Classic.

Second Serve will be brought to you by Stephen McIvor, with Barbara Schett-Eagle joining Stephen during the women’s tournament, and Robbie Koenig featuring alongside during the men’s tournament.

Prime’s free-to-air coverage includes daily highlights from both the men’s and women’s tournaments at the ASB Classic, serving up the best action from the court. Broadcast details will be released closer to the tournament and updated on the electronic programme guide (EPG).

While the ASB Classic is underway this side of the Tasman, it’ll be starting to heat up in Australia with the ATP Cup and Adelaide International all playing out before the first grand slam of the year begins, the Australian Open.

SKY Sport’s coverage of the Australian Open features the main courts on Sky Sport 4 and an additional two Sky Sport pop-up channels, meaning viewers won’t miss any of the big moments in Melbourne.

In February “The Summer of Tennis on Sky” continues with the 2020 Federations Cup – Asia-Oceania Group II live from the Renouf Tennis Centre in Wellington from Wednesday February 5 through to Saturday February 8.
