Hosted by Rikki Swannell and Tony Johnson the awards highlight what is so good about the game for all New Zealand.

There are several categories including the “Sky Fans’ Try of The Year” which features the 10 best tries of the year. Fans get to cast their vote of which try captivated them the most.

There’s also other plenty at stake in all the other categories especially teams of the year, Super Rugby player of the year, and coach of the year.

The supreme individual award the “Kelvin R Tremain Memorial Player Of The Year” is highly sought after and this year is seems the talented All Blacks and Hurricanes loose-forward Ardie Savea is the frontrunner.

The game’s volunteers will be rewarded and there’s always a special significance when the “Steinlager Salver” is presented to an individual who has made a special and significant contribution to the game.

The awards night will also serve as a farewell to two legends of rugby – All Blacks coach Steve Hansen and captain Kieran Read.
