Igloo Is Now Closed



When IGLOO closed on the 1st March, your box should have received an automatic update so that you may still be able to watch Freeview channels. This update means you won’t have some functionality and technical support you normally get from IGLOO but should let you  watch Freeview channels through your box.  You need to ensure your box is plugged in and turned on during 1st-15th March to receive this update.

Didn’t get the update?

If your TV doesn’t look like this after 1st March this means you haven’t received the automatic update. To manually download the update, grab a USB stick and follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure the USB stick has been cleared or formatted
  2. Download this file on to a cleared USB. The file name should end in .SDL
  3. Safely remove the USB from your computer and then pop it into the USB slot on the back or left hand side of your IGLOO box. It will look like this (insert image).
  4. Once the USB is in the IGLOO box, turn off the power at the plug for about 10 seconds. 
  5. Switch the IGLOO box back on.  It will begin to reboot and download the info from your USB stick.  This will take about 10 minutes and you’ll be able to see the progress on your screen.  While this is downloading, you won’t be able to use your IGLOO box. 
  6. Once the download is done you can take out your USB stick. You’ll know the download happened as there won’t be any IGLOO branding on your screen anymore but there should be a basic TV guide for you to use. If you run into trouble or are unable to do this, call us on 0800 2 44566 and we’ll sort you out.

1. To be eligible for this offer you must be a current IGLOO customer or owner of IGLOO hardware and you must pass a SKY credit check. You must also quote the CA Number on the bottom of your IGLOO box to redeem this offer. There is only one subscription available per CA Number and per household. This offer is subject to SKY's Domestic Terms and Conditions (available at www.sky.co.nz/domestic-terms).
2. As an IGLOO customer, this offer entitles you to the SKY Basic Package (which includes your use, but not ownership, of a SKY box) at the special discounted price of $19.95 a month until 31 July 2018. After this date SKY standard charges apply (which are subject to change).
3. With this offer there's no joining fee, no minimum term (you can cancel on 28 days notice) and no fees for a standard domestic installation. (If your installation is not standard, then a fee may be payable on installation.)
4. Monthly SKY subscription is payable in advance.
