Visit Norway, Denmark and Sweden in August, when Rialto World focuses on Nordic Film. Launching with Norway's Oscar contender for Best Foreign Language Film, The King's Choice (August 5th). The King’s Choice is based on the true story about the dramatic days in April 1940 where the King of Norway is presented with an ultimatum by the German armed forces – surrender or die! The following Monday 12 we present the official submission of Norway for Best Foreign Language Film category, Thelma. Thelma, a shy young student, has just left her religious family in a small town on the west coast of Norway to study at a university in Oslo. While at the library one day, she experiences a violent, unexpected seizure. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize for ‘World Cinema’ – Dramatic at Sundance Film Festival 2018 we present Holiday, Monday 19. Young and beautiful Sascha discovers her new dream life of luxury, recklessness and fun comes at a price when she is welcomed into the "family" of her drug lord boyfriend. Nominated for an Academy Award and Winner of Un Certain Regard Award for Best Director at Cannes Film Festival Border premieres Monday 26. Tina is a border security guard who has the ability to smell human emotions and catch smugglers. When she comes across a mysterious man with a smell that confounds her detection, she is forced to confront hugely disturbing insights about herself and humankind.
