Thursdays 8.30pm in December

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, Faces Places (27th) headlines our collection of art documentaries. Follow director Agnes Varda and photographer/muralist J.R. as they journey through rural France and form an unlikely friendship. Prophecy (20th) is the story of an oil painting from conception to completion by artist Peter Howson and its subsequent sale. The Great Museum (13th) takes an in-depth look at daily life at one of the most famous cultural institutions in the world, The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. The docu-drama Francofonia (6th) tells the history of the Louvre during the Nazi occupation and a meditation on the meaning and timelessness of art.
