William Kentridge In Rome

In 2016, internationally renowned artist William Kentridge presented “Triumphs and Laments”, his colossal tribute to the history of Rome. A 550 meters long frieze on the Tiber banks, portraying the glories and the tragedies of the Eternal City, from the birth of the Eternal City to Pasolini’s murder, from Bernini to Dolce Vita and the refugee crisis.

The most majestic artwork to take place in Rome since the painting of the Sistine Chapel disappeared within a few short months. This film, shot with exclusive access over two years, is its only memory.

Verbier 2016: Behzod Abduraimov

Behzod Abduraimov’s has quickly established himself as one of the leading pianists of this generation. Here he performs masterpieces from the piano repertoire, with works by Chopin, Schubert, Beethoven, Bach and Prokofiev. Among the highlights of the concert, Prokofiev‘s Sonata for Piano No. 6 in A Major, which was praised by Sviatoslav Richter, the first performer after the composer himself, for its “remarkable stylistic clarity and the structural perfection”.

Treasures Of The British Library (Series 1)

This series follows celebrities as they delve into the archives of the British Library unlocking masterpieces to explore their personal roots, passions and heroes. Each person discovers six items from the British Library’s vast and unique collections, from well-loved items such as Leonardo Da Vinci drawings, Jane Austen’s writing desk and Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony sketchbook, to the Library’s lesser-known treasures including photographs, sound recordings and banknotes. The distinguished guests include jazz singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum, actor and writer Meera Syal, poet Benjamin Zephaniah, children's author Julia Donaldson, professor and television presenter Lord Robert Winston and trumpeter Alison Balsom.

Making Marvels

When architects, designers and artists dream the impossible they turn to Australian company UAP to unlock their imagination to fabricate large-scale public art. Over 20 years twin brothers Daniel and Matthew Tobin created a studio and workshop that would enable projects for artists and designers to realise their creative vision. From humble beginnings in a small urban workshop casting bronze door handles to a worldwide enterprise across three continents working with over 130 staff to make some of the largest art in the world. Over this three part series, we follow the UAP team across challenging large-scale art pieces - working with fabrication teams, locations and materials, all while balancing client expectations, the budget and the artistic vision of each individual work. Using dramatic observational footage, reflective interviews, artist insight and extensive archive, we follow the conception, design, creation, installation, and stunning reveal of some amazing and inspiring large scale art.

The Great Pottery Throwdown (Series 1)

From the producers of the hugely successful 'Great British Bake Off’ comes a search for the most passionate and creative amateur pottery talent. The series follows the trials and tribulations of the competitors, young and old, from every background and every walk of life, as they attempt to prove their pottery prowess. Ten passionate potters compete against one another as they showcase the skills and craftsmanship required to create beautiful objects out of lumps of clay.

Stars Of The Silver Screen celebrates the lives of those who soared the highest. Contributions from contemporary commentators and current Hollywood glitterati will bring each icon’s legacy up to date as we relive their most magical motion picture moments and explore the personalities behind the names.

The Book Club (Series 11)

Now in its eleventh season, The Book Club gathers together booklovers for literary debate and discussion. Hosted by Jennifer Byrne, with regular panellists Marieke Hardy and Jason Steger, each episode is a robust and passionate discussion covering one new release book, and one favourite brought by a panelist.

A feel-good, compelling Spanish story of a fashion house in Madrid in the late 1950s, which is scene to money, fashion, drama, entanglements, love, jealousies, plots and counter-plots involving its owners, customers and employees.
