Sky Rewards Sport Channel Unlock Terms

 
  1. To be eligible to receive a Sky Reward, you are required to be a Sky TV residential customer who has been subscribed to a Sky Starter package for a minimum of 6 consecutive months and has a Sky Box or Sky Pod in the home.
  2. To be eligible to receive the Sky Sport Unlock Reward customers must have both Sky Starter and Sky Entertainment packages and must have had the Sky Sport Package at least once between 1 and 5 years ago.
  3. If at the time of allocation of the Sky Reward a customer has already subscribed to the Sport Package then they will no longer be eligible for the Sky Sport Unlock Reward.
  4. Sky Rewards cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
  5. The Sky Rewards offered to you, or chosen by us for you, where applicable, will be final.
  6. The unlocked period will be specified in our email communications or via My Account.
  7. The unlocked channel or package will be available on your Sky Box or Sky Pod (including any of your multiroom boxes) and on Sky Go unless it is a channel which is not generally available on Sky Go.
  8. To ensure we can respond to the needs of our customers by continually improving Sky Rewards, we may make changes to these Terms at our discretion. We will give you notice of any changes that we deem to be material via the Sky Rewards website and/or direct communications with you.
  9. We may also change, cancel or suspend, at any time and without prior notice, the reward we offer, at our sole discretion.
  10. We may suspend your ability to claim a reward, without notice and for such period as we consider appropriate, if we consider on reasonable grounds, that Sky Rewards may have been collected by you or another member on your Sky account as a result of fraudulent behaviour.
  11. If an event that is beyond our reasonable control (e.g. an earthquake, internet outage or satellite failure) stops us from providing the Sky Reward to you or otherwise performing our obligations to you, we will not be liable for that non-performance. However, we will:
    • do our best to keep you informed about what has happened and how long we expect the event (and its impact) to last; and
    • take reasonable steps to keep performing where we can.

Definitions: In these terms:
Sky, we, us means Sky Network Television Limited of 10 Panorama Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland; and
you means the person that is the Sky account holder.

Opt out of Sky Rewards:
If you don’t wish to participate in Sky Rewards, please log in to My Account here, go to Account Details, scroll down and update your Sky Rewards Communication Preferences. You will then no longer receive communications about Sky Rewards and will not be eligible to receive Sky Rewards. If you change your mind all you need to do is update your preferences in the same place.

FAQ

When does the unlock start and finish? 
The unlock will start at 12.01am on Friday 17 May. The Sport Channel package will lock back up/finish at 11.59pm on 17 June. 
How do I make sure that I’m getting communications about my Sky Rewards? 
Make sure you’ve opted into receiving Sky Rewards marketing communications by heading to our preference centre. Simply go to My Account: 
  • Log in / Register at www.sky.co.nz/myaccount  
  • Click on ‘Account Details’ 
  • Scroll to ‘Communication Preferences’ 
  • Switch the toggle for Sky Rewards on (green) (The slider for Receiving marketing communications from Sky Rewards should be green. If not, slide it to opt-in).  
How will I find out about Sky communicate with customers? 
We are communicating to our customers via email & SMS. An SMS will be sent to customers on Thursday 16 May, and the service email and email to those with marketing permissions will be sent on Friday morning between 10am and 11am. We will not be sending out direct mail.
Can I choose my Sky Reward channel unlock package? 
This time we’re doing things a little differently. Not everyone will receive the Sport Package channel unlock on us and the Package will be added automatically.  
What happens if I don’t opt into receiving email communications? 
That’s okay, if you are one of our lucky eligible customers you will automatically be given the Sport Channel Unlock reward. 
Will I need to cancel Sky Sport after the reward period is over? 
No, the reward of Sky Sport for one month on us will automatically be removed from your account. 
If I have more than one Sky Box or Pod at home, will the reward be available on all of them? 
Yes, you will be able to view the unlocked channels on all your devices.  
Will accepting a Sky Reward change the cost of my current Sky subscription and services? 
No, Sky Rewards are on us to say thank you and celebrate you being part of the Sky whānau. If you are currently receiving a special discount or offer on your usual Sky subscription, accepting a Sky Reward will not change or affect this special pricing. Any Channel Unlock services you receive as a Sky Reward will be automatically removed from your account at the end of the reward period and will not change your usual monthly Sky bill. 
Can I watch my Channel Unlock reward on Sky Go? 
Yes, you can watch Sky Sport during the channel unlock period on Sky Go live or On Demand.
