From the editor:

Dear Readers, We’re all in this together.

We’re 100 percent behindNew Zealand and the decisions our government has made to support Kiwis’ health and well-being.

We also agree with the decisions being made around the world to postpone or cancel events to try and flatten the curve of COVID-19.

In times of uncertainty and change, we all like to turn to a trusted friend who can support, educate and comfort us. In many ways, telly, whether it’s on your TV, your tablet or your phone, is that friend. It has been with us through thick and thin – it shares the best and worst of news and events that unite nations, it makes us laugh, offers escapism and enables us to travel the globe, virtually.

It’s fair to say our sports channels will look slightly different over the next little while – we know you love these channels, and so do we! If the magazine feels a somewhat light on sport stories, that’s because at the time we’ve gone to print, the global sporting calendar has been changing rapidly. That doesn’t mean there won’t be exciting programming for you to enjoy… we’ve got you covered, sports fans.

It’s not just the sport pages that look different – we’ve also had to make the difficult decision not to include the listings in this issue. We don’t want to disappoint anyone, but what we dislike even more is giving you the wrong information. We’ve included easy-to-use guides on how to find all the programming details you need from your remote, phone, tablet or computer.

What we do have this month is a feast of entertainment options for you – Downton Abbey Movie, Richard Hammond’s BIG, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Sanditon, Joanna Lumley’s Hidden Caribbean, oodles of kids’ treats (just in time for the holidays), The Brokenwood Mysteries, Mrs America, I Know This Much Is True, and much, much more.

From the 1200 Kiwis at Sky, who are dedicated to bringing you world-class television, we want to say thank you for sticking with us.

We will get through this – stay strong, stay well and look after your whānau.
