FROM THE EDITOR

January is always a great month – a fresh start made better with long, lazy, sunny days. Kick back and relax with SKY as we bring you another great month of sport and entertainment.

Tennis fans, rejoice! The new year brings with it a host of events close to home – see Serena, Venus and other superstars tear up the courts at the ASB Classic and Australian Open. Plus, the summer of cricket continues with big games in store for the BLACKCAPS – we interview bowler Trent Boult on page 32.

We’re proud to bring you SKY PERKS, our brand new app just for SKY customers. Get great discounts and awesome deals, conveniently accessed on your mobile. Check out page 2 to find out more.

Awards season is kicking off with the 74th Golden Globes® and we’re bringing it to you LIVE, from red carpet coverage on E! to the ceremony itself on Vibe. Plus, get sucked into the dark world of all-new series Taboo on SoHo, starring Tom Hardy.

Grab some popcorn, because we’ve got a huge month of movies coming up, with the truly epic Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, family favourite Zootopia and an action-packed Spy Pop-up.

Treacherous terrains take centre stage on Discovery Channel, with celebrity guests pushed to the limit on Running Wild with Bear Grylls, and new series Megatrains featuring a New Zealand episode.

Yes, it’s still school holidays, and we’re coming to the rescue with plenty to keep the kids entertained, with loads of goodies across the kids channels and plenty of fun on SKY Movies Disney and SKY Movies Family.

Beloved Auckland dining spot Little & Friday has a new cookbook, and it’s full of delicious meals and treats – turn to page 162 for a couple of our favourite summer recipes from the book. And don’t forget to get entering as we’ve got a heap of awesome prizes up for grabs this month. Wishing you all the very best start to a great new year!
